2 Out of 15 Ain’t Bad
Packing a suitcase to go anywhere has always been extremely difficult. Not only do I second guess everything I pack, but I also get so stressed because when someone says 68 degrees I don’t really know what that means. Is that shorts weather? Is that shorts and a sweatshirt weather? Is that pants and a tshirt weather? You get what I mean. I don’t understand weather when it comes to degrees.
Anywho, I start packing. Second guessing everything I’m grabbing. And then about 10 minutes into packing I usually decide a list is a good idea, so I stop packing and make a list.
The list is usually short, because I can’t think of half of the things I want to bring. Then I start packing again. Eventually I get so overwhelmed I just start grabbing a little bit of everything, shorts, dresses, pants, t-shirts, sweatshirts, etc.
As I’m packing my list gets longer, and I start grabbing things off my list getting distracted the whole time (thank goodness I made a list.)
I eventually think I have everything I need, and have gotten everything off of my list, and zip my suitcase and usually realize I forgot a few things. When that happens I unzip my bag just a tiny bit and shove whatever I need to in that tiny hole.
I get to where ever I am packing for, and usually wear 1 or 2 of the 15 outfits I packed. Luckily, Calvin never complains. He gets me.
I then repeat these same steps when I’m packing a bag for the kids. If we are going to be gone for 7 days, they have 2-3 weeks worth of clothes just incase.
As Calvin says “I’d rather have something and not need it, than need something and not have it.”
