Melancholy

I feel melancholy today,

Like colors fading into gray.

A quiet ache I can’t explain,

Like distant thunder before the rain.

The world around me hums along,

But I’m just drifting without a song.

A heavy sigh without a sound,

The only noise—my heart’s soft pound.

Familiar faces pass me by,

But there’s a cloud across my sky.

I smile, though I feel far away—

I feel melancholy today.

Not sadness, joy, or out of place,

Just floating in this in-between space.

I hope tomorrow the fog will clear,

But for now, I’ll just be here.

I’ll sit with this feeling for a while,

Until it fades or lets me smile.

For even though I feel this way,

I know it’s okay not to be okay.
