Safe Food

 I didn't realize this until recently, but sometimes I’d rather not eat than eat the things available to me. I would rather go hungry than just eat anything. And many times I DO go hungry because literally nothing sounds even edible.

There is one thing I can eat anytime. All day, everyday. They are almost always in the freezer because Calvin knows I will eat them. Uncrustables. My “safe food.” When everything sounds disgusting, uncrustables don’t. 

I honestly think they are way underrated. Why isn’t the world obsessed with them? I don’t understand. I don't pull them out and let them thaw. I microwave those suckers for 30 seconds. You have to try it. 

As soon as I’m done eating I wash my hands instantly because I can't stand sticky hands. But that is my only complaint. Other than that uncrustables are heaven.

My Superpower

  People think of autistic people as lacking empathy. It’s a stereotype I’ve heard my whole life, and every time, it stings. For some of us, it’s the exact opposite. Some of us don’t lack empathy; we have too much of it. It’s called hyper-empathy, and it means feeling everything; sometimes to the point of exhaustion. As a child, I slept with all of my stuffed animals, not because I needed them, or even wanted to, to be honest, they took up WAY too much of my space, but because I couldn’t stand the thought of any of them feeling left out. Blooming Where I’m Stuck

  So, here’s the thing. You all know I’ve been struggling with agoraphobia. I don’t even count the months anymore, it’s been awhile.  I’ve lost touch. In every way. I let my fears consume me.
