Sunshine

I was told once “when you walk into a room, you always bring sunshine with you.” That kind of always stuck with me. On my cloudy days I would ask myself “are you being sunshiney enough?” If I wasn’t it didn’t matter what was bothering me, I would grin and bare it. Smile, and forget about it.

It helped me for awhile. But what it really did was make me put on a facade. Fake smiles, fake laughs, and I’d just internalize my problems. Even when I wasn’t happy I didn’t want to let go of the “Sunshine.” And I grew really good at faking it. Too good.

The reality of the matter is, NO ONE is sunshine and rainbows all of the time, that’s just not possible. We are all human, therefore we are destined to have bad days. Now, don’t get it twisted, I’m not encouraging you to be grumpy all the time, what I’m saying is, let it rain, let it STORM, but then make sure you enjoy the Sunshine too.
